The European umbrella organisation of energy storage organisations, EASE, published a new position paper on heat and cold storage. Amongst others, the paper highlights the fact that in many European directives – such as the Ecodesign Directive and the Energy Labelling Directive – efficiency calculations are still based on outdated COP data, making electric heating and cooling appear inefficient in comparison to other technologies. A full version of the position paper can be downloaded below. Energy Storage NL is associated with EASE.
