Since 2009, EST-Floattech B.V. develops DNV-GL certified intelligent energy storage systems (ESS). EST-Floattech’s mission is to play a key role in the transition to zero-emmision shipping. With a track record of more than 200 major projects worldwide, EST-Floattech is one of the strongest maritime battery suppliers. Next to the focus on the maritime industry, supplies EST-Floattech ESS the land-based sector and contributes to the sustainability in the construction and mining industry. While the marine market is served from the headquarter and production center in Hoofddorp ,the Netherlands and a sales offices in Germany is the Norwegian branch focused on serving the land-based sector.
Type of projects
The lithium-ion batteries are implemented in fully electric ships, powerful hybrid applications in combination with traditional diesel or LNG engines and, more recently, with hydrogen technology. We live in an era with a continuous change in energy source solutions. Thereof EST-Floattech strives to enter into partnerships with other important stakeholders such as shipyards, system integrators, ship owners and technical universities. Together we look for innovative solutions and partner up, starting at the design phase up to and including the operational phase.
The maritime customer portfolio consists of a wide range of projects in which we deliver both small and large applications in segments such as superyachts, fishery, ferries, inland waterway shipping, cruise ships, defense and work ships.
In the land-based sector, applications are supplied such as batteries to excavators, but also turn-key solutions such as the Mobile Fast Charger; a fast charging container developed by EST for commercial vehicles, among other applications. The loading container has both AC and DC power interfaces, making it suitable for fast loading of e.g. ferries in ports.
Shareholders
EST-Floattech is part of the investment fund PONOOC, the Rotterdam Port Fund and PDENH. This guarantees continuity of the company and the development of sustainable battery systems.
