ESNL and NEBS join forces for education around energy storage
Energy Storage NL (ESNL) and the New Energy Business School (NEBS) are joining forces on the topic of energy storage. Both organizations identify a growing need for accessible, up-to-date and applicable knowledge on this topic.
The energy transition is accelerating, creating new challenges, such as grid congestion. How can energy storage provide a solution to this problem? The right knowledge is essential here. Think about the knowledge of our network and applying the right batteries in the right location, thinking along and complying with new regulations, and improving the business case through new contract forms.
"We see that the storage world is changing at lightning speed," he said. said Jeroen Neefs, director of Energy Storage NL. "For example, from Europe come more and more requirements, such as in the field of (cyber) security and recycling that developers must take into account. But also outside the sector, such as among civil servants, there is a growing need for knowledge to be able to assess, for example, whether a storage project is safe and spatially compatible. As ESNL, we want to respond to the need for knowledge by focusing on knowledge dissemination.
The ambition of ESNL and NEBS is, on the one hand, to develop an in-depth course specifically for ESNL members to keep abreast of changing regulations. On the other hand, a basic Energy Storage course will be developed to take professionals who are new to the storage industry. Both courses will be designed to not only inform, but also provide concrete tools that professionals can use to get started right away.
"This collaboration underscores the shared mission of both organizations. contribute to a stable, sustainable and innovative energy climate in the Netherlands. We do this by actively connecting knowledge and network. The courses are currently being worked out, identifying current topics and industry experts. Registration will soon be possible through NEBS and ESNL channels." says Remon Westra, Course Manager at New Energy Business School.
