Recap: Energy Storage Day 2025 - The power of storage for a future-proof industry
On Wednesday, October 8, Energy Storage NL organized the Energy Storage Day for the eleventh time during the Energy Trade Fair in Den Bosch.
This year's central theme: "The Future of Industry with Energy Storage."
Dutch industry is under pressure. Grid congestion and high energy prices hamper growth and sustainability - but the solutions are within reach. At Energy Storage Day, leading companies showed how electricity, heat and molecule storage help companies better utilize their grid connections, keep energy prices predictable and create space for innovation.
Highlights of the program
Moderator Jeroen Neefs opened the afternoon and led an inspiring program of pitches and insights from industry and technology.
- Keynote: Willem Wensing (FME) - "The current situation in Dutch industry"
A sharp analysis of the challenges and opportunities the energy transition presents for the manufacturing industry. - Heat Storage: interesting insights from Eneco (Juriaan Mieog) and BeeBeeOne (Pieter Blok).
- Molecule Storage: practical examples from Metalot (Raoul Voeten) and Windunie (Eelco Bots).
- Electricity Storage: valuable contributions from Electroproject (Ronald Waaijer and Wouter Ellis) and Elestor (Floris van Dijk).
Each pitch showed how innovation and collaboration contribute to a more robust energy system - from large-scale flow batteries to modular thermal storage.
Energy storage makes a difference
The afternoon made one thing clear: energy storage is no longer a pipe dream, but an essential part of today's solution.
Companies, technology developers and policymakers found each other in a shared ambition: to build a resilient, sustainable industry together.
A big thank you to all the speakers, visitors and partners for their valuable contribution and energy.
