Vacancy: Junior Project Manager Energy Storage

For example, there are 30 industries affiliated with FME. For one of our industries, Energy Storage NL, to expand the team we are looking for a: Junior Project Manager Energy Storage NL (ESNL).

What will you do?

In the role of Junior Project Manager, you will support the industry association Energy Storage NL (ESNL), the representative of the Dutch energy storage sector with more than 200 members.

You will work closely with experienced project managers and colleagues and support them in setting up, implementing and coordinating projects. You will also independently take on (partial) projects and conduct research into developments within the energy storage sector and energy transition. In doing so, you make a substantive contribution to current and new projects.

In this position, you help maintain contacts with member companies, knowledge institutions, governments and other stakeholders. You will support the preparation and supervision of working groups, the collection and analysis of information and the development of (policy) proposals. In this way you contribute to representing the interests of the energy storage sector towards parties such as grid operators, ministries and regulators.

You will work with colleagues, the ESNL board and other industry associations to achieve common goals. You will also assist in achieving the organizational and substantive goals from the annual plans and support in building and maintaining a relevant network within the industry.

In addition, you can expect from us

  • For this position, the salary for full-time employment is in the range of €3,419 to €5,699 gross per month (salary level 2025). We have a fair and transparent remuneration policy, in which we scale new colleagues based on their background, expertise and experience. We do this in conjunction with the existing salary structure so that internal relationships remain in balance.
  • 27 vacation days and 13 ADV days on a full-time basis;
  • A laptop and cell phone from FME;
  • Home working budget for workplace furnishing of up to €750 for 5 years;
  • Home working allowance of €2.40 per day;
  • An elective budget of €300, pro rata employment, for earmarked goals focused on vitality and Smart Working
  • Finally, FME values development and well-being. Employees within FME are encouraged to work on his or her development and well-being. To this end, in addition to personal (study) requests, FME makes available the online platform Open Up (quick access to 1:1 sessions with psychologists and group sessions).

Who are you?

You are an enthusiastic (junior) project manager with an interest in the energy transition and policy developments within this domain. You are curious about how the energy system works and would like to learn more about it. You enjoy working with different public and private parties and connecting them to contribute to a more sustainable energy system. You like to work proactively and independently, but also know when to coordinate with colleagues. You have a hands-on mentality and pick up new topics quickly. You are flexible and work well with people from different disciplines. You think in solutions, communicate carefully and take different interests into account in order to achieve a good result together.

Job requirements

  • You have 1 to 2 years of experience leading projects in/around energy transition and have a completed HBO/WO education;
  • You have a managerial/political background with strong affinity towards the energy transition and the role of technology;
  • Content knowledge of energy markets, the power grid, and laws and regulations is a plus;
  • You are policy savvy and can switch well on content between members, politics and other stakeholders.
