Battery Systems Knowledge File
Interest in battery systems is growing rapidly. Due to grid congestion, strongly fluctuating energy prices and the desire to become more sustainable, more and more SME entrepreneurs are looking at energy storage as a solution. To support them in this, DEB.nl, in cooperation with the trade association Energy Storage NL, is launching the new Battery Systems knowledge file: a practical and independent overview especially for SMEs.
Practical tools for entrepreneurs
A battery can provide space; to grow or become more sustainable within the existing grid connection, to accommodate peaks in electricity consumption and to be able to use more of your own self-generated solar power. At the same time, a battery is not a standard solution for every business. This knowledge file helps SME entrepreneurs make informed choices and look first at steps such as energy conservation, behavioral change and energy management.
In the file, SME entrepreneurs will find, among other things:
- A clear explanation of when a battery does or does not make sense;
- 10 practical tips when buying a battery system;
- A comprehensive list of questions to ask suppliers;
- Explanation of important concepts and technical terms to better understand quotations;
- Attention to safety, laws and regulations, subsidies and total cost of ownership.
Focus on SMEs and grid congestion
This knowledge file focuses on business applications of batteries and connects to the daily practice of SMEs. In doing so, there is explicit attention to grid congestion: a growing bottleneck that hinders business owners from electrifying, expanding or becoming more sustainable.
