Energy storage is playing an increasing role in our increasingly electrifying society. But how do we ensure that energy storage systems are used safely and batteries and other energy carriers are stored safely?
In 2023, experts from industry, governments and safety regions worked on two guidelines: PGS 37-1, for safe storage of electricity in energy storage systems, and PGS 37-2, for lithium-containing energy carriers. The Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment is working on a proposal to make these guidelines legal. During the Energy Storage Conference on March 19, 2026, Jaarbeurs in Utrecht, we would like to take you through the contents of this proposal.
