Webinar large-scale battery systems and off-grid congestion
In the coming years, large-scale battery systems will play an increasingly important role in balancing fluctuating demand and fluctuating supply (electricity from solar and wind) at all times. Much flexibility is needed to keep the future sustainable energy system in balance, and to limit curtailment of sustainable sources. Even as early as 2030. Therefore we organize on April 19 from 3 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. a webinar on large-scale battery systems and off-grid congestion.
We are hosting this webinar following a study conducted by research firm CE Delft on the role of large-scale battery systems in solving and preventing off-grid congestion. They investigated which policy alternatives are suitable for batteries to act grid congestion neutral and/or solve grid congestion. This involved analyzing current policies as well as devising and assessing additional policies. These policy alternatives were devised in consultation with the relevant stakeholders, the business case was calculated and they were assessed in terms of various (social) evaluation criteria. CE Delft conducted this study at the request of the Ministry of Economic Affairs & Climate and TKI Urban Energy.
During this webinar CE Delft will present the results of this report, after which a panel will discuss the outcomes of the study. The program is not yet known, but please register.
