Webinar on the role of large-scale batteries in generation grid congestion

Want to know how large-scale batteries in Solar PV can contribute to additional CO2 reduction and solve grid congestion?

Large-scale batteries can be used to balance supply and demand at any time and prevent or in some cases even solve grid congestion. On November 16, the Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland (RVO) is hosting a webinar in which research firm CE Delft will discuss the results of a study to policy measures for large-scale batteries and generation grid congestion presents.

CE Delft worked out a subsidy measure for deferred delivery of electricity to the grid when generated with solar PV. With deferred delivery, electricity is stored in a battery and supplied to the grid at times of shortage of renewable energy. This allows for additional sustainable electricity production which contributes to CO2 reduction. A battery used for deferred delivery is not profitable. The Minister of Climate and Energy has presented to the House of Representatives by letter informed of an operating subsidy for the amount of electricity deferred.

In the webinar, a panel of market participants, EZK and grid operators will discuss the results of the study and the subsidy opportunity.

For whom.
This webinar is primarily intended for battery and solar PV operators interested in the role of large-scale batteries in generation grid congestion. But of course, also welcome are policy makers, market participants and grid operators, among others, who want to hear more about the role of large-scale batteries in the energy system of the future.
