Since 1911, we have been making quality products you can trust. Generations back, my great-grandfather started a simple smithy in Rotterdam in 1911. Since then, our family business has grown into a full-fledged production company where many high-quality products are made. We manufacture our fire resistant storage systems in our own factory in Zwijndrecht, the Netherlands. We also supply a complete range of related articles in the field of hazardous materials storage such as emergency showers, absorbers, safety cabinets, drum pumps, safety jugs and drip trays. For this we work closely with partners from all over the world.
With more than 2,500 items, BUMAX is also your supplier in the field of PGS 15 solutions.

BUMAX produces and innovates

We set the bar high and are at the forefront of new techniques in fire and environmental safety. In 1992, for example, we tested the very first fire-resistant container in a whole at TNO. Since then, this fire test has been repeated several times and conducted in various European countries in order to continue to meet the most up-to-date standards. This comprehensive fire test has never been matched in the market to this day.

New successes continue to follow one another with even more fire tests and innovations, always with one goal; to make the storage of hazardous materials safer throughout Europe. From DIBt approval for the German market and double fire-resistant sliding doors according to EI1 60 for the European market to the integral assessment of fire-resistant storage systems according to PGS 15 for the Dutch market. The latest innovations concern the X90 fire-resistant storage systems according to the new PGS15:2025 and PGS 37-2. 90-minute fire-resistant storage systems with EI 1 90 fire-resistant doors.

Family business BUMAX

BUMAX is part of a family business, with a long and successful history since 1911. The company is now in the hands of the fourth generation and we continue to build a reliable, stable and healthy company with over 30 employees.
