Sustainable energy cooperative Zeeuwind

For nearly 40 years, Zeeuwind has been taking responsibility for a sustainable future. We do this by investing in Zeeland's energy solutions. We believe that energy is only truly valuable when it is green, local and accessible to all.

As a cooperative, we act with knowledge, experience and decisiveness. With more than 3,600 members and a professional team of 15 specialists, we have grown into the Netherlands' largest energy cooperative and an authority on Zeeland's energy transition. We are proud that our members are co-owners of the energy transition in Zeeland.

Together we have already achieved a lot: we started as pioneers in 1987 with three small wind turbines near Bath, but today Zeeuwind manages 67 wind turbines and more than 50,000 solar panels. Together, these generate electricity for hundreds of thousands of households.

Smart approach

Energy demand is changing, as is society. That's why we remain inventive. We invest not only in wind and solar, but also in new, smart energy solutions that fit our times. From innovative contracts with grid managers and customers to well thought-out technical infrastructure such as closed distribution systems. In this way, we promote local power purchase and also alleviate problems on the national grid.

We also bring sustainable choices closer in the built environment: we have now analyzed more than 1,500 homes and dozens of businesses and helped owners with insight, advice and concrete steps toward sustainability.

Zeeuwind is at the center of the Zeeland community. We listen, connect and make complex issues understandable and accessible. Together we put our shoulders to the wheel, because we believe that real change only happens when you share responsibility.
