Bolts of Strawberries

Bouten Aardbeien recently invested in a custom energy container. The family business, founded in the 1970s, specializes in high-quality strawberry cultivation. For some time, the company has had a CHP plant that provides heat and electricity for the greenhouses. Previous investments in more efficient greenhouses and lighting have already allowed them to successfully market the energy generated.

With the new 1250 kW and 2007 kWh energy container, Bouten Aardbeien takes the next step. The system makes it possible to respond on a larger scale and even more flexibly to various trading markets within the energy sector, including the imbalance market.

By doing so, they strengthen their position as energy-producing horticultural companies and create additional returns at times when the grid demands it most.
