ESNL supports call to new cabinet: commit to implementation and realization

"Execute, execute, execute." That urgent call comes from a broad alliance of civil society parties to the new cabinet to be formed. "In the coming years, commit firmly to implementation, realization power and clear choices on behalf of the climate and energy transition in the Netherlands."

The Netherlands has everything it needs to achieve a clean and prosperous society, according to the letter. The transition is in full swing. Countless investment plans are ready. In both companies and households, the question is now what are sensible investments. That is why it is very important to provide clarity, according to the alliance of civil society organizations.

In this regard, it is worth remembering that the global playing field is changing rapidly. Many countries, inside and outside the European Union, are currently offering great opportunities for companies to realize clean energy or industrial production without greenhouse gas emissions within their borders. If the Netherlands does not adopt a stable investment policy in return, we may lose an important source of prosperity and employment and become even more dependent on other countries for our energy supply. This requires the new government to anticipate this in a timely and adequate manner.

The Netherlands has good cards in its hands here, but in order to capitalize on all the opportunities, it is very important that in the coming years there is a firm commitment to implementation and realization power, especially in the field of sustainable energy production and related infrastructure.

Clear choices, implementation, and realization power are crucial to provide perspective. The alliance would like to see the upcoming coalition agreement offer citizens, workers, and entrepreneurs that future perspective. In the short term, members of the alliance will make concrete proposals.
