Energy Storage Conference

Energy storage is playing an increasingly important role in our increasingly electrified society. As a result, the importance of the safe use of energy storage systems and the responsible storage of batteries and other energy carriers is also growing.

The Energy Storage Conference, to be held on October 28, 2026, at the Jaarbeurs Utrecht, will focus on the latest developments in legislation, regulations, technology, and practical applications. The program offers participants up-to-date insights into the progress of the proposed amendment to legally enshrine PGS 37-1 (safe storage of electricity in energy storage systems) and PGS 37-2 (lithium-containing energy carriers), as well as the implications of these changes for daily practice.

The conference begins at 9:00 a.m. with a welcome reception and concludes at 4:15 p.m. with a networking reception.

What can you expect?

  • A clear explanation of the latest developments regarding the proposed amendment and its impact on organizations and professionals.
  • Inspiring workshops on topics such as calculation methods, the External Safety Register, the further development of the PGS guidelines, and the results of the online consultation.
  • A first look at a new guide designed to assist in working with the amendment decision.
  • An opportunity for questions, discussion, and the exchange of knowledge and practical experiences with colleagues.

Who should attend this conference?

The conference is intended for anyone involved in energy storage systems or the safe storage of energy carriers. This includes policymakers, regulators, licensing authorities, consultants, and owners and users of energy storage systems. A valuable gathering for professionals who want to stay up to date on the latest developments in this rapidly changing field.
