Expert Masterclass on Batteries and Energy Storage: PGS 37

Battery storage is playing an increasingly important role in the energy system. It helps make better use of renewable energy, reduces grid congestion, and provides flexibility for businesses and energy systems. At the same time, its implementation requires careful decisions regarding safety, permits, design, management, and responsibility.

This masterclass, developed in collaboration with Energy Storage NL, focuses on the safe and responsible implementation of battery storage. You’ll gain insight into PGS 37-1 and how it applies to the design, installation, operation, and management of energy storage systems. In addition, the class covers fire safety, reporting requirements, permits, and safety distances.
...as well as the role of the parties involved. You’ll receive practical guidance on evaluating supplier information and on inspection, commissioning, monitoring, and maintenance.

The day will be supplemented with real-world examples. During the site visit at Hager, you’ll see applications such as a PGS37 container, E3/DC storage systems, DC connection to solar panels, peak shaving, and charging infrastructure. The masterclass concludes with a real-world case study from Alfen, in which concrete project experiences are shared regarding the safe implementation of battery storage.
