Online Budget Day in Perspective 2025
FME is hosting a livestream the day after Budget Day, updating supporters (including Energy Storage NL participants) on key issues in 30 min.
What do the cabinet's new plans mean for your business?
During Prinsjesdag in Perspectief - the annual discussion of the Budget Memorandum - you will be brought up to speed on this. True to tradition, FME will host a livestream the day after Budget Day (Wednesday, September 17) in which the most important issues presented during Budget Day will be discussed. Fedet members can also participate in this livestream free of charge and thus learn in a concise manner what the new plans mean for our sector.
Political crisis
This year's analysis of Prince's Day and the national budget takes place against the backdrop of a political crisis and a caretaker government. It is an exciting period in which democratic legitimacy, administrative continuity and stability are under pressure.
As a result, this year's Budget Day takes on a broader meaning than merely a budgetary exercise. The political context determines the scope for policy, but also the way the budget is presented, read and weighed.
That means the 2026 budget is expected to be austere and limited in many respects. Major strategic decisions are likely to be deferred to a subsequent cabinet. At the same time, the political dynamics of the moment may just call into question measures and investments in the coming months. This increases the need to firmly protect the Netherlands' technology industry, and that starts with sharp analysis from our team.
