The product

BB-One designs modular systems that combine electrification and clean energy storage into a single scalable solution, thereby providing heat, cooling, and electricity exactly where they are needed. The system consists of a combination of a heat pump, a battery, and other energy assets, which can be combined as desired and expanded as the company and the energy transition grow. The systems are designed for storage capacities ranging from tens to hundreds of megawatt-hours. A deliberate choice in this regard is to avoid lithium-ion: after researching the environmental impact of this technology—both during the extraction of raw materials and after disposal—BB-One opted for the sodium battery as a cleaner storage technology. A unique feature is the ability to convert electricity into heat of up to 95 degrees Celsius in a single step and store it without pressure until demand peaks.

Services

BB-One’s AI control system continuously optimizes based on price signals, demand, and the customer’s unique usage profile: energy is stored when prices are low and converted into heat, cooling, or battery power, ready to be used when needed or sold back to the grid. The system intelligently positions itself in the energy market without the customer having to manage or wait for it. Customers can combine modules as they wish, giving them full control over performance and return on investment.

Proven in practice

BB-One operates in sectors where the energy transition is already underway, ranging from greenhouse horticulture and industry to commercial and residential buildings. For food and beverage producers, where strict temperature and process requirements are essential, BB-One offers step-by-step electrification without halting production or requiring major renovations. This allows customers to maintain control over both process reliability (for example, for pasteurization and fermentation) and energy costs, leading to a more stable production environment.
