Smart Microgrid for Grid Reinforcement and Energy Continuity at the COA

Electroproject and Equans built two smart microgrid installations for the COA at the Energy Plaza in Zaandam. These systems make it possible to provide a reliable and future-proof power supply for the site, despite a limited grid connection.

The project addresses the growing problem of grid congestion and demonstrates how battery storage and smart energy management can support public infrastructure.

With the Energieplein in Zaandam, COA has a reliable, scalable energy solution that makes the site independent of grid upgrades.

The smart microgrid solution makes it possible to implement future expansion and electrification (such as heat pumps or charging infrastructure) in phases and in a smart way—without grid congestion or loss of capacity.
