Someren BESS Solar Parks

The Someren Solar Park is an existing solar park in Someren that is being expanded to include a co-located BESS in order to utilize the generated solar energy more efficiently. The battery has a capacity of 7.5 MW and a storage capacity of 20 MWh and will be installed behind the existing grid connection. The BESS charges entirely from the solar park. By adding storage to existing renewable generation, the project helps reduce curtailment, improve the utilization of solar energy, and enhance security of supply. The project is owned by AQ Storage B.V. and is co-financed by Meewind.
