During the working visit, Aris de Groot, CEO of Ecovat, discussed the opportunities of thermal storage for the built environment and the preconditions needed to further stimulate thermal storage in the Netherlands. Stefan Olsthoorn, branch manager of Energy Storage NL, further explained ESNL's National Energy Storage and Conversion Action Plan 2019 to Member of Parliament Harbers. An important point in the action agenda is to ensure future funding for energy storage technology. Indeed, to date, no government funding is possible for this.
In the tour of production hall, Ecovat's new production robot was also demonstrated. This robot allows the production of ecovat to be increased and facilitates the heavy production process.
Because of the opportunities that ecovat offers for energy transition, the company is also in the FME climate opportunity map.
