Energy Storage NL advises International Energy Agency
Energy Storage NL attended a meeting last week of the International Energy Agency (IEA), which is currently conducting a review of the Netherlands' energy and climate policy. This review is conducted every five to six years. The goal is to assess the Netherlands' performance in planning and implementing their energy and climate policies and make recommendations for improvements. The review focuses on key challenges and opportunities for Dutch energy policy.
Energy Storage NL was invited to meet with a team of energy experts from IEA member states to discuss current energy policy issues and to discuss suggestions for improvements. Among other things, ESNL advocated the creation of a flex target, monitoring a European level playing field by harmonizing transmission tariffs, and exploring further financing options for the energy storage business case. The insights gained will be used for recommendations that will eventually be included in a report for the Dutch government.
